Attractions

Walking through old parts of the city just to see the unique architecture is worthwhile. Long Street is a good place to start. Here the remains of the old town with its cobbled lanes are found around Greenmarket square. The District Six and Bo Kaap museums both great spots to learn about the city's past.

The history of Cape Town's previous Dutch and British occupation can be seen at the Good Hope Castle Fort, situated across the huge open area in front of the imposing neo-classic city hall. Other attractions in the area include the Parliament buildings and Tuin huis (President’s residence).

Regular 10-minute shuttles run to the Victoria and Albert Waterfront. With its aquarium, historic features, shops, restaurants, classy bars, and sailing charters, it makes an exciting place to visit.

If you want to spend some time on one of the city's beautiful beaches, Camps Bay is the trendiest option, but beaches are also found at Blouberg and Muizenburg.
